Box Artwork Checklist

When preparing artwork for printing boxes, please follow this guidelines below.

  • Use a box dieline template that allows for the correct stock thickness in your Quote/Order.

  • Upload 1 x PDF for each Order Number (eg J0001-01.pdf).

  • Each PDF to have 1 x page per side, eg:

  • PDF page 1 – Box #1 Outside
  • PDF page 2 – Box #1 Inside (for 2-sided boxes)
  • PDF page 3 – Box #2 Outside
  • PDF page 4 – Box #2 inside (for 2-sided boxes)

  • Artwork to have 3mm bleed on each edge.

  • CMYK colour, not RGB or Pantone (unless included in your quote).

  • 300dpi resolution for images.

  • Dieline to use spot colour named “Cut” or “Crease” respectively, and set to overprint.

Box Artwork Layers

Please note the top-to-bottom layers of your artwork for boxes:

  • Top layer: Dieline

  • Spot UV layer (Optional)

  • CMYK printing

  • Bottom Layer: Spot White Ink (Optional)

Spot UV

When using optional Spot UV or 3D-UV on box artwork:

  • Spot UV to be included in the same artwork, not as a separate PDF file or page.

  • Spot colour named “Scodix” to be used as 100% fill or stroke for Spot UV objects.

  • All Spot UV objects to be set to overprint.

  • 3D-UV does not cut or crease well, so keep 3D-UV objects clear from cut or crease lines.

  • Flat UV is fine to be cut or creased, so include it in the 3mm bleed.

  • Spot UV layer to be on top of printing, and under any dieline.
